Philippe Dormond – Violin maker, bow maker and repairer
Philippe was born and raised in a small village in the Swiss Alps and have lived in Sweden since 1995. Before I left the mountain paradise in 1982, I had time to train as a cabinetmaker and take a diploma in classical guitar at the Geneva Conservatory.
In Sweden he trained as a violin maker at the Leksand school of Violin making, and later came to worked for bow maker Sven-Erik Berg and later at Roland Wiklund Violinateljé.
Since 2004 Philippe has been working independently with repairs and new making of string bowed instruments. During his years in the profession, Philippe have developed a fondness for baroque instruments and bows and immersed himself in these. Beyond making violins and cellos both modern and baroque, Philippe also make viola da gamba, baroque bows, viola d’amore, 5-stringed violin/viola, violin piccolo and a variety of other bowed instruments from the baroque period.
Stefan Lindholm – Violin maker and restorer
Stefan Lindholm's instruments have been awarded at competitions both in Europe and in the USA and in 2012 he won the gold medal at the Italian violin making competition Concorso Internazionale di Liuteria di Pisogne.
Stefan completed his first violin at the age of 15 and trained at Newark and Sherwood School of Violin Making in Great Britain.
Later he came to immerse himself in complex restoration work and has experiences from violin workshops in Sweden, Germany, France, Holland and Italy. Today, he mainly focused on new making of violins, violas and cellos and a few restoration projects.
In addition to his own atelier Stefan work at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm.
