Modern violins, violas & cellos
In recent decades, newly made violins and cellos have become a popular alternative to old Cremona violins, not least among professional musicians.
Skyrocketing prices for older master instruments, combined with uncertainty about authenticity and old repairs that risk messing up, are contributing factors to the fact that many violinists today choose to play on a newly built instrument, which usually results in comfortable and safe instrument ownership.
But above all, it is the tonal qualities of new master violins that attract, and it has been shown time and time again that modern string instruments usually "win" over Stradivarius, Guarnerius, Amati and Guadagnini in various blind tests organized around the world.
The advantages are many for a musician who chooses a modern instrument and a significant part is having direct contact with the builder, not least when it comes time for service or adjustments, so you get continuity and avoid being bounced between different studios.
Even many world soloists play a modern master instrument today, as their main instrument or as a complement to their Stradivarius, Guarnerius or Montagnana.
Made on order, prices start at € 16.000 for a violin and € 32.000 for a cello.
