Christian Schertel (I) (1865-19??) This violin was made in Bayreuth, Germany in 1907 and instead of a traditional scroll it is mounted with a carved head. Labeled and stamped Ch Sch. BAYREUTH in the back.
Worked in several places in Bavaria, and for Thibouville-Lamy in Mirecourt. Established independently in the Sophienstrasse, Bayreuth from 1906. Good professional work. / John Dilworth
